Choosing a pickleball paddle color: which colors work best?
The color of your paddle is the first thing people see as you step onto the court. Whether you go for sleek black, fresh white or a striking color that matches your brand -- the choice has more impact than you think.

Having a custom pickleball paddle made always begins with the same question: which color becomes the background? It seems a simple choice, but the color determines how well your logo comes out, how the paddle looks on the court and whether it fits your club colors or brand identity.
Dark or light?
This is the most fundamental choice. Dark colors (black, navy, dark green) give a premium and sleek feel. Light colors (white, cream, light gray) are fresher and photogenic in the sun. Both work well -- it depends on what goes on top.
Dark background: this works best
- White or light-colored logos and text jump right out.
- Gold or silver looks luxurious on black or navy.
- Neon colors (yellow, pink, green) give an energetic contrast.
Light background: this works best
- Dark logos and text are sharp and legible.
- Colors like teal, red or purple stand out well on a white or cream base.
- Works well with clubs that have a colorful logo.
Popular color combinations
Here are the combinations we see most often with our customers, with a brief explanation of why they work.
Black + white text
Timeless, sleek, works for any logo. The holes in the hitting surface stand out less with a black background, which gives the paddle a more even and professional appearance.
White + dark green (teal)
Fresh and sporty. Works well with clubs that have green club colors and with corporate gifts where you want a neat, not too striking look.
Navy + gold
Premium and luxurious. Popular with companies that want a high-end corporate gift. The gold can be approximated via a yellow or orange text color in our designer.
Red + white
Striking and energetic. Works well with players who want to stand out and with tournament prizes where the winner cannot miss it.
Color and logo: how do you match them?
Upload your logo in our designer and try different background colors. The preview immediately gives a good idea of how the combination turns out. A few tips:
- Transparent logo (PNG): the background color of the paddle becomes the background of your logo. Choose a color that fits your brand identity.
- Logo with a white background (JPG): then choose a white or cream paddle color so the transition is not visible. Or use our background remover -- it cuts the background away automatically.
- Text without a logo: high contrast works best through the holes. White on black or black on yellow are the most legible combinations.
Set your own color via hex code
In our designer you can, besides the 10 standard colors, also set your own color via a hex code. Know the brand color of your company? Enter the hex value and the paddle adapts right away. Handy for clubs and businesses that use Pantone or RAL codes.

Summary
The best paddle color is the color that makes your logo or text come out best. Dark for a premium feel, light for a fresh look. Just try it out in the designer -- it costs nothing and you see the result right away. Only after your approval of the proof does it go into production.
