Pickleball is becoming more and more popular in the Netherlands, and with that the demand for pickleball paddle printing grows too. Whether you want a paddle with your own design as a gift, for your business, or just for yourself: you have more options than you think. Not all providers work the same way, and the differences in price, speed and flexibility are large. Want to know how we do that in practice? Read our 7-step production process.
Which techniques are there to print a pickleball paddle?
Broadly speaking there are two ways to give a pickleball paddle its own design.
The first: paddles are fully made to measure in the factory (usually in Asia), with the design applied during production. This is called OEM production. Advantage: the design is part of the paddle itself, so very durable. Disadvantage: long delivery times (four to eight weeks) and high minimum orders (often 12 to 24 units or more). Not suitable for small orders or short deadlines.
The second way: a standard paddle is personalized in the Netherlands by applying a high-quality full-color sticker or film to the hitting surface and possibly the side. The sticker is UV-resistant, weather-resistant and applied with professional equipment. We work according to this method. Advantage: from 1 paddle, within 7 days, affordable. Disadvantage: slightly less durable than fully printed paddles, although the difference in practice is small with normal use.
Which method suits you depends on three things: how many paddles you need, how quickly you want them, and how important absolute durability is.
What can and cannot be printed?
With most providers (including us) it holds: you can print almost anything, as long as the file you supply is of sufficient quality.
What works well
Company logos, names, dates, short texts, abstract patterns, high-resolution photos, color fields, sports club emblems.
What works less well
Very fine details such as thin line drawings of less than 1 mm (these drop out when printing), photos with a lot of gradient (these can become grainy), or text smaller than 8 pt (illegible at close range).
We check every supplied file before we start and warn you if we think it is not going to come out well. We also always first send a digital proof for approval.
What does printing a pickleball paddle cost?
Prices depend on three factors: quantity, finishing level (only hitting surface or also the side), and whether you supply your own design or need help.
For individuals, for a single paddle: from €99 for a Basic (only hitting surface printed), €119 for Full Custom (hitting surface plus side). That is including VAT, shipping, and a standard protective cover.
A Duo Deal with two Full Custom paddles costs €199 (so €99.50 per unit), ideal if you play together with someone.
For business orders we work with volume discounts. Indicative prices for Full Custom:
- From 5 paddles: €99 per unit
- From 10 paddles: €89 per unit
- From 25 paddles: €79 per unit
- From 50 paddles: €72 per unit
- From 100 paddles: custom quote
These prices include VAT and shipping within the Netherlands. International deliveries (Belgium, Germany) at adjusted shipping costs.
How long does printing a pickleball paddle take?
With us: at most 7 days from approval of the proof to delivery in the Netherlands. You get the proof itself within 24 hours of ordering.
For rush orders we can sometimes deliver within three working days, but that is not a standard service. Get in touch if you are really in a hurry, then we will see what is possible.
With providers that work through Asia: count on four to eight weeks, sometimes longer. Take transport, customs and possible delay into account.
Which files should you supply?
For a good print you need a vector file or a higher resolution raster file.
Files we accept:
- PNG (at least 300 DPI)
- JPG (at least 300 DPI)
- SVG (best choice for logos)
- PDF (preferably with embedded fonts)
If you only have a screenshot of your logo, or a file under 300 DPI, let us know. We often help you track down a better version, or adjust the position so it still comes out well.
For text you do not need any special files. You can type directly in our designer, choose from fonts and colors, and see how it is going to look.
Who is pickleball paddle printing suitable for?
Four types of customers often come back:
- Individuals who want to give a personal gift (wedding, birthday, retirement). Order from 1 paddle, fast delivery.
- Players who want to personalize their own paddle instead of walking around with a generic branded paddle. Often advanced level, keen players, wanting something of their own.
- Businesses wanting custom paddles as a corporate gift, for events, or for team building. Volume discount from 5 paddles.
- Pickleball clubs wanting club paddles for tournament prizes, welcome gifts for new members, or anniversary handouts. Individual names per paddle possible.
